Richard Brown is an artist, or to be specific, an artist armed with a pencil.
Although Richard has experience with many different media including oils, watercolor, and pastel, the humble graphite pencil has become the focus of his artistic efforts of late. Some might say this focus has become a passion, and in fact, graphite pencil art represents his sole means of artistic expression today.
This very simple tool has been used by Richard to interpret his view of the world for many years. In Richard's eyes the world continues to be a never-ending source of wonder and inspiration. There never has been a shortage of material to study. Subject matter for study revolves around Richard's interests. This may include personalities that have shaped his world, or the romance of exotic wildlife. It also includes an appreciation of the simple beauty that nature has wrought, and an admiration of the mechanical devices that man has built.
All of these subjects are given their due.
